The thread started by Gorski I found quite interesting (at least the first page before the thread went off topic)
I hope its possible to continue the discussion here for the on-topic part.
I do have a Premium lying in a drawer waiting, so if some usable software comes along I want to set it up as my second box.
From Gorskis thread I read that this image is quite stable and good, but with some limitations:
- Internal cardreader.
- Wifi.
- Internal tone problems, mainly on radio channels.
- Small space left in DOM
This is ok so far, and there are workarounds for most of these issues. But this is the part where I have more questions.
-Internal cardreader:
Will it work well with an external cardreader? If so is there a list of supported cardreaders and easy to follow documentation on how to set them up to work with the emu of choice?
Or is the best option to use the box as a client only?
-Wifi:
The most obvious workaround is to use a lan cable or a wifi-to-lan bridge adaptor. But is it posssible to use any USB-Wifi adaptors, and if so what models?
-Internal tone problems:
No workaround, just live with it or avoid using the radio part?
- Small space left in DOM.
Workaround mentioned by using a bigger DOM or an USB stick and flashexpander.
About the USB/flashexpander method, does the partitions need to be in any particular filesystem, or will the flashexpander tool take care of this and format them?
About bigger DOM, what is the recommended size, and where to get it? (a link to any working ebay item or other online shop would be nice)
